University rules or: How my open non-EA university works
« on: February 25, 2018, 08:09:43 PM »
As you know I am using Rachels awesome Uni Careers instead of the EA System. I edited them a bit, mostly I changed some skills around and made the requirements a bit harder because I am not using the progress bar.

My Sims can’t advance on their own in their careers (set with NRAAS Storyprogression).

My students need to learn the skills required until the smiley is green.

And then I will assign them a small project. If they are done with that I will set them to the next semester.

In this case which is the botany class of first semester biology they need to plant a seed at home and nurture it until they can harvest it. The quality will determine their grade^^

My engineering students will need to invent something (which is very hard in my game all skills are at 0.03 with relativity and the chance to invent something is set to 5%, chances for electrocution or fire are 1% so 93% of the time absolutely nothing will happen). If they happen to invent something however the item will become publicly available soon and will advance my neighborhood a bit further, thanks to my inventing overhaul that could be very interesting.

Taila my only music student has to learn a new song for her guitar and perform it.

My art students have to turn in a painting project painting something in my town.

And I am sending my future teacher to a day at school teaching^^

Here is Mi Katai looking for parts she can use in her semester project.

This sounds amazing! How do you keep track of all this?

I only have to remember what their projects were, which I can now look up on the internet^^
Other than that I just check if their smiley is green when I play someone who is at university, if not that is the skill they want to learn and should learn on their own too as I have Study Skills online (http://modthesims.info/download.php?t=478271) set to prioritise career skills.
I hope that the projects are done by the time I move on, if not I will leave a note somewhere for when I play them again.

This is great, Snow - so detailed :nerd: I love the projects requirement. Do you have one for all majors?

I spontaneosly decide on a project while I play. That is not very unrealistic because projects at uni often get changed up too. But yes all my students have to do one. If you want I can update this Thread with what I make them do each time^^

Ok let's start with Mi who is studying engineering.

Her task was to invent something. Also i emptied the inventing bench in the enginnering department, so she had to go search for parts.

She build a weird looking washing machine and is therefor admitted to the next semester. Since she is totally overqualified for that too and could just start the next project, I am thinking about letting her skip ahead.
